Children's Outpatient Services

Children's Outpatient Services provides case management, therapy and psychiatric services that assist with the entire family. We create a treatment plan with goals of the client as well as the entire family and assist our families in reaching their goals. Each family is unique and our services are individualized to meet each specific need - we can meet at the home, office, or child's school and we try to be accommodating of each family's busy schedule.

Family Intervention Team (FIT).

The FIT program receives referrals from DCF investigators about families that need services in order to prevent removal of the children from the home. We assess the family for mental health needs as well as TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families). The TANF program includes anyone under the poverty level of 200% and needs assistance with finding employment, housing, navigating the social services system, and overall parenting. Through this program, the parent can get a case manager and/or a therapist to work with the entire family. The main goal of the FIT program is to prevent the removal of children that may not be warranted.

Statewide Impatient Psychiatric Program (SIPP).

In SIPP, a case manager and a therapist work with families who feel that their child's mental illness has risen to the level that they will need to be placed in a mental institution. These cases would be staffed with anyone who has ever been involved with the child (previous mental health providers, teachers, relatives, etc) to determine whether a placement is needed or if we can try to do intensive services to prevent the placement. Children are in the SIPP an average of 6 months.

I would like to welcome you to the Children's Outpatient Program, where we strive to help not only your child but the entire family to function to its highest potential. Our program is designed to meet the needs of the family and is able to work with your child in the home or school setting, depending on their specific need. We are able to provide case management, psychiatric services, and therapy services (individual and family) and develop a treatment plan that centers around how the child can best succeed.
