Leon County General

Leon County Case Management is a service that Apalachee Center, Inc. provides to those persons who are diagnosed with a severe and persistent mental illness with or without co-occurring substance abuse issues. Case management services are based on the Recovery Model, which focuses on ensuring the best life possible and focuses on the individual, not the symptom associated with mental illness. Case Management first assesses the client for the individuals needs and issues. Then a unique treatment plan, which is guided by the client, is created with support from the Recovery Specialist. The client can be linked to other needed services where the Recovery Specialist, if needed, can advocate and coordinate services on behalf of the client. Families are encouraged to be active participants in treatment. Leon County outpatient services also include psychiatric services. Clients are given a psychiatric evaluation and are monitored by the psychiatric staff with medication therapy.

In some cases, families are eligible for Temporary Assistance to Needy Families (TANF), which promotes family stability and financial independence. A supported employee counselor can help clients with needs associated with gaining employment or furthering their education in order to lead them to financial success.

Furthermore, for individuals that will benefit from therapy, it can be provided by Masters and Ph.D level clinicians. For clients interested in parenting classes, this service is also provided by a Ph.D level clinician who works with parents or children of varying ages.
